GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The ND2K240 is a low-profile inverter suitable for local AC power generation. This model is designed for use with appliances in countries with 220/240V power distribution. It requires a DC power source such as a battery bank or a fuel cell capable of delivering the required level of power.

This inverter is based on the Reconfigurable DC Link Technology (pat. pend.) which enables its small size and weight. The output waveform is produced without pulse-width modulation and heavy inductive chokes. Instead, the AC waveform is generated as a staircase approximation of a sinusoidal wave. Up to 37 voltage levels are used in the approximation.
The technology used in ND2K240 can be adopted to a different AC voltage level (such as 120Vac). The power level can also be increased to a higher level as needed. Moreover the AC waveform frequency can be made variable for applications such as frequency drives. The inverter handles full-range of power factor changes including bidirectional power flow, which makes it suitable for motor drive applications including regenerative braking.
